From a cooler vintage in the Santa Lucia Highlands, this Chardonnay displays a luminous green-gold hue. The nose offers precise aromas of green apple, wet flint, and acacia honey with subtle oak spice. The palate delivers both richness and refreshment - flavors of pear, lemon zest, and crushed almond unfold with vibrant acidity (6.8 g/L TA) that earned 94-96 point scores. Aged 16 months in French oak (40% new), this 14% alcohol Chardonnay finishes with a stony persistence. Pair with Dungeness crab or roasted poultry - the 2017 vintage shows incredible balance and longevity.
