From Sicily's arid highlands, this Nero d'Avola displays an inky purple core and explosive aromas of blackberry liqueur, crushed violets, and volcanic ash. Fermented with native yeasts and aged 18 months in concrete, it achieves remarkable purity with flavors of black cherry, bitter chocolate, and Mediterranean herbs that earned 94 points. The endless finish pulses with iron and licorice root, best enjoyed with grilled lamb chops or eggplant parmigiana after a two-hour decant.
