Luca Malbec '22

This single-vineyard Malbec displays an inky purple-black core with magenta reflections. The nose explodes with blueberry liqueur, violet pastille, and a compelling graphite minerality. On the palate, it combines Uco Valley power with surprising elegance - velvety tannins carry flavors of blackberry compote, mocha, and a touch of lavender. Aged 18 months in French oak (40% new), it earned 94 points for its seamless integration of fruit and structure. The finish lasts minutes with evolving spice notes. Sourced from the La Consulta district's alluvial terraces, the wine's freshness comes from the 2022 vintage's cool spring. Decant for grass-fed ribeye or wild boar ragù to match its intensity.
