Lady of the Sunshine Pinot Noir from Chene Vineyards is a vibrant, biodynamic expression of California’s Edna Valley. This medium-bodied wine bursts with red berry notes like raspberry, cranberry, and strawberry, complemented by earthy minerality, subtle floral tones, and a touch of spice. On the palate, it offers layers of black raspberry, light lavender, and anise, with a lively, fresh character and a long, layered finish. A complex bouquet unfolds with ripe berries, floral notes, and an earthy undercurrent, showcasing the vineyard's unique terroir. Crafted from a blend of Dijon clones 667 and 115, the wine is made using 100% whole-cluster fermentation with minimal extraction, which preserves the wine’s purity and structure. Aged for 10 months in neutral French oak, the wine's gentle tannins and balanced acidity offer excellent aging potential. The Chene Vineyard, located on a Monterey formation rock bed, produces concentrated small clusters due to its naturally devigored vines, resulting in wines with depth and complexity. Winemaker Gina Giugni leads the charge with a commitment to biodynamic farming and minimal intervention, ensuring that the wine reflects the distinctive character of the land. This Pinot Noir is a testament to Gina’s philosophy of crafting wines that express the environment authentically while embracing playful elegance.
