This Mourvèdre-dominant blend from Provence glows with inky purple hues and intoxicating aromas of blackberry, garrigue herbs, and crushed graphite. Extended maceration in concrete tanks extracts formidable tannins - flavors of plum skin, bitter chocolate, and Mediterranean spices unfold with remarkable concentration. Aged 24 months in large foudres, it earned 95 points for balance between power and finesse. The endless finish reveals licorice and volcanic earth, making it exceptional with daube provençale or grilled lamb.
