Cignale IGT '18

This Super Tuscan from the coastal Maremma region is a powerful blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The 2018 vintage offers an intoxicating nose of blackcurrant, cigar box, graphite and Mediterranean herbs. On the palate, concentrated flavors of black cherry, dark chocolate and espresso unfold with impressive density, supported by firm yet polished tannins. Aged 18 months in French barriques (50% new), it shows both New World opulence and Old World structure. Decant 1-2 hours and pair with grilled porterhouse, wild boar stew or aged Pecorino. A serious wine that rivals many Bolgheri icons at half the price.
