From Ribeiro's granitic sands, this Mencía displays a vibrant ruby-purple core. The nose bursts with primary aromas of black raspberry, white pepper, and crushed violets. The medium-bodied palate offers juicy flavors of marionberry, licorice, and roasted herbs with supple tannins that earned 92-94 point scores. Fermented with 30% whole clusters and aged in concrete, this 13.5% alcohol red finishes with mouthwatering acidity (6.2 g/L TA). Perfect slightly chilled with grilled chorizo or mushroom tapas - the 2022 vintage shows Mencía's drinkability and food-friendly nature while maintaining serious structure for aging.
