What a wonderfully vibrant white from Gascony! The typical Gascon blend of Colombard and Sauvignon Blanc yields an intense nose of citrus fruits and white peach, buttressed by intense fruitiness and a grassy, lemony character on the palate. Ready to drink, though its freshness and intensity will bring some softening and aging if you can wait for it. Domaine d’Uby is an excellent and innovative domaine in a region dominated by cooperatives, or Armagnac producers that also make some wine as a sideline. At Uby the focus has been on wine production since the 1960’s and it is now run by Francois Morrel, who is in his thirties and the fourth generation to be running the estate. 80% Colombard, 20% Sauvignon
